Apart from heavy main line locomotives (class 6600) ERS also needed lighter locomotives for shunting in Rotterdam. Therefore they leased these two locomotives from Angel Trains Cargo in Germany. Apart from shunting and short trips on the harbour line in Rotterdam, they have now also started to appear on main line trains to Venlo (border with Germany). In autumn 2005 a third locomotive arrived, but this was returned during 2006. In September 2007 nr. 1505 was additionally hired, which was returned again in 2008.

The locomotives are of the standard type G1206 of Vossloh Locomotives (former MaK) in Kiel in Germany. Also ACTS, R4C, Veolia and Strukton have locomotives of this type.
