ÖBB 1063 Electric Locomotive. 1063 039-0 shunting the yard in Kufstein on Wednesday September 19th,2001. This is one of the single system 15kV locomotives. The class was introduced in 1982 for shunting and trip-freight working with a rating of 1520 kW, 2040 hp and a top speed of 80 km/h, 50 mph.

ÖBB 1063 Electric Locomotive. A nice top view of 1063 039-0 shunting the yard in Kufstein on Wednesday September 19th,2001, taken from the pedestrian walkway over the station and yards. ÖBB electric shunter 1063 042-4 at the depot in Graz Hbf. Austria
and Switzerland use electric locomotives for most shunting work,
other than Germany. The 1063 is equipped with 3-phase induction
motors, but not with a regenerative brake.

ÖBB 1012 & 1063 Electric Locomotives. 1012.003-8 and shunter 1063.039-0 share the yard in Kufstein on Wednesday September 19th,2001. Shortly afterwards 1012.003 departed southwards towards Innsbruck and I never saw any more class 1012 locos on my visit.
