Cogwheel steam locomotive 97 217, built 1908 at Floridsdorf, in service 70 years until 1978, put up as a monument here in 1980. Perhaps this locomotive is going to be overhauled with a new boiler and reactivated. Vordernberg, 2009-05-17.

ÖBB - Austria
Rack steam locomotive 97 217 is plinthed at a corner of the town square of Vordernberg Markt. This locomotive used to run on Vordernberg-Eisenerz, the rack section of the now completely closed (for regular passenger service) line Leoben-Vordernberg-Hieflau.
