This is one of the TEE INOX PBA coaches as they have been ordered by the French (SNCF) and Belgian (NMBS/SNCB) railways in the sixties. The SNCB/NMBS owns all open plan coaches, the SNCF the compartment, restaurant, bar and generator carriages. Originally they were all 1st class, some have been converted to 2nd class (with a green stripe above the windows). These coaches have been used in TEE and later EC trains between Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam. Currently they are being replaced by TGVs.

After elimination of the EMU's type 35, there was an excess of the central coaches. coaches 212.206 (UIC 60 88 80 69 031-8) and 212.208 (UIC 60 88 80 69 032-6) were rebuild to the current medical unit, used for regular checkup of the NMBS personel. Due to the geographical location of many railroad constructions, it was confortable to use a train to serve all places easily. In 1972-73, this unit was delivered by the CW Mechelen, and started official service on july 18, 1973.

The picture shows the unit in Kinkempois depot. May 11, 1996.
