Luxemburg "Wegmann" type, with a bicycle coach at the end.

NMBS/SNCB diesel locomotive 5529 enters the station of Trois-Ponts at its
northern end with a passenger train to Luxembourg on 2 August 1997. Within a
few years this scenery will be changed drastically, as the line will be
electrified (at 25kV!) and the switches will be operated from Liège,
such that the signal box will no longer be used.

coming from Montzen. They are now running at idle because once the Gemmenich tunnel is
passed, the tracks slope down 2,5 percent towards Aachen West. Later this couple of
locomotives returned to Montzen with a heavy train consisting of scrap metal. See

NMBS / SNCB 5510 IR115: Liège - Luxembourg at Vielsalm Rencheux (Belgium) 07/12/1998
During the first weeks of december a lot of snow fell in the Belgian Ardennes. A nice period to shoot nice pictures. For the moment the Liège - Luxemburg line is being electrified, next year all trains will be electrical. Loco 5510 had just started services after some months of repair in Salzinnes.
