2701 heads measuring train E 16061 from Aachen Hbf to Scha'rbeek, having just left the Buschtunnel in the South of Aachen on 21 September 2007. The third car is a measuring car of B-Telecom, the telecommunication branch of the Belgian Railways. The trailing loco is 2703, it is not working (there are two locos to allow reversing without shunting). The lights shining through the catenary pole next to 2703 belong to an excavator on the other track. The train is just changing from the right track (the last remaining operable track in the old tunnel, note the red Sh2 board next to the measuring car) to the left track (the last remaining oberable track on the section towards the Belgian border). Further right a new single-tracked tunnel was built during the last two years. The portal is not in the picture, but the construction works for the new track can be seen in the foreground.
