Dordrecht, August 1986. Benelux service Amsterdam-Bruxelles. A brand new 1181 loc in combination with old benelux coaches. During spring 1987, the old Benelux-stock was replaced by new. In 1986 however, many of the old driving trailers already encountered so many technical problems, that some had to be replaced by locomotives, to keep the push-pull configuration. This picture shows, at the rear of the train, one of the new Belgian locomotives series 11.8, that were purchased for the new Benelux services. At the front of this train was an old series 25.5 E-loc with an Eurofima car. Photo: Rob Reinders (r.reinders5@chello.nl)
