Quevy_d1.jpg (138731 bytes)

Tracks at the border station of Quévy, South end, looking North (Mons and Brussels).

• Left: Tracks 1-2, variable-voltage (Belgian 3kV DC + French 25kV-50Hz AC), previously used by cross-border services headed with single-voltage locomotives.
Currently accommodate IC services to/from Brussels and TER services to/from Northern France, and also the overnighter Paris <-> Berlin/Hamburg.

• Middle: Tracks 3-4, single-voltage (French 25kV-50Hz AC at this stage), previously used by cross-border services fitted with dual-voltage locomotives.
Currently used by Freighters only.

• Right: sidings, previously used to stable freight wagons and locomotives. All single-voltage (2x on the left in French 25kV-50Hz AC, remainder in Belgian 3kV DC).

Tracks at the border station of Quévy, North end, looking North (Mons and Brussels).

Although Tracks 3-4 are still under French 25kV-50Hz AC (single-voltage) at this stage, one can notice the signs warning against a forthcoming voltage change-over (i.e. into Belgian 3kV DC).
