View on the stationbuilding of Willebroek. This is actually the second station named Willebroek, the first was located on the same place and was opened in 1870 together with the section Mechelen - Puurs of line 54. It was closed in 1913 when the line was heightened as the bridge crossing the Brussels-Scheldt canal was also heightened.
The new station, pictured here, was built between 1913 and 1914 in eclectic style with a rich interior containing a terrazo floor, neoclassic plaster and a coffered ceiling. It was made a preserved monument in 1987 and was restored in 2003.
