Belorussian diesel loco TEP70-0225 on Grodno station with Grodno-Moscow "Nieman" consist. TEP70 is pretty powerful unit and is used only with Grodno-Moscow and Grodno-Leningrad trains. This one is attached to Orsha depot but used only on Grodno-Molodechno route. On Molodechno-Minsk, Minsk-Orsha and Orsha-Smolensk routes ChS-6 czech-made electric locos are used. And further to Moscow the ChS-8 tooks relay.

Belorussian deisel TEP70-0225 releases the cloud of smoke and starts the 1000 km journey to Moscow. Grodno-Moscow "Nieman" train passes such famous towns as Minsk and Smolensk. The whole route takes 17 hours. Photo taken on Grodno station 10.08.2001 at 16.47.
