Ironically, while the Re 482 and the 185 are technically essentially identical, the DB Cargo loco here has the necessary equipment to run also in Switzerland, but the SBB Cargo loco doesn't (as of the date of the picture). This is because it is part of a batch that Bombardier Transportation took from the production of class 185 for DB Cargo and delivered to SBB Cargo at short notice when the additional equipment for Switzerland wasn't available; it will be added later, until then these locomotives are only used in Germany. 6. Mai 2003, Bf. Karlsruhe Gbf, Deutschland Links SBB Cargo Re 482 013 neben einigen DB-Cargo-Loks der Baureihen 140 und 150, rechts DB Cargo 185 108-8 vor einem KLV-Zug. Ironischerweise sind die Re 482 und die 185 zwar technisch im wesentlichen identisch, aber von den beiden Loks in diesem Bild hat (am Tag der Aufnahme) nur die von DB Cargo die Zusatzausrüstung für die Schweiz, die von SBB Cargo nicht. Das liegt daran, dass ihre Lieferserie von Bombardier Transportation kurzfristig aus der Produktion der Baureihe 185 für DB Cargo abgezweigt und an SBB Cargo geliefert wurde, während die Ausrüstung für die Schweiz nicht verfügbar war; sie soll später nachgerüstet werden, bis dahin kommen die Loks nur in Deutschland zum Einsatz.
