Despite the fact that Düdingen is physically located in the canton of Fribourg (French speaking majority), and it is the next stop to the east from Fribourg, the cantonal capital, it is instead a German-speaking town. Signs for tracks and platforms here are in German. For example, platform 2 is called "Perron 2" instead of "Quai 2" in French. Taken 3 August 2003.
