Some pay phones in Switzerland accept Euro coins instead of Swiss Francs. Normally it is common practice in Switzerland (Swiss residents *please* email me if I am wrong!) to accept Euro notes but not the Euro coins, as a secondary form of cash payment. These pay phones at the time accepted Euro coins, at a rate of about € 1,00 = CHF 1.40. Taken 3 August 2003.
