French sector (Platform 4, Tracks 7-8), seen from Platform 3.

This sector was built in 1984, as an extension under the remodelling required by the construction of the Railair link.
<p>
Hitherto, traffic to/from France had been accommodated at Platforms 2 and 3, in rather unsatisfactory conditions, as it was mixed with Swiss internal traffic.
<p>
The Class 72500 DMU on Track 7 was awaiting departure on TER 96624/3 to Valence-Ville (via Grenoble).
