Station of Lancy-Rouge, seen looking towards Genève-Cornavin and Bellegarde.

• Right: single-track to/from Genève-Cornavin (15kV 16.7Hz AC), for Swiss Freighters and Regional services (Chord of La Praille-Est);
• Left: single-track to/from France (1.5kV DC), for French Freighters (Chord of La Praille-Ouest).

Actually, this station is provisional. It opened on 15th December 2002, so that Swiss regional services could extend into the Southwest of Geneva.

Under the CEVA project,

• a new, larger station (dual-tracked) will see light further South, closer to the new Tram station; and
• the left-hand track is to become convertible (1.5kV DC or 15kV-16.7Hz AC) until La Jonction, so as to accommodate Annemasse-bound CEVA services.

Lancy-Pont Rouge (Genève).

3rd December 2004.
