Historic SBB steam engine in the front of Buchs SG train station, which is situated near the border between Switzerland and Principality of Liechtenstein. On the small plate is written the following: Schweizerische Locomotiv & Maschinen Fabrik Winterthur, No 1967, 1909. The big number (8487) is actually the number in traffic. The almost 100 years old engine had a capacity of 4.2 tons of water and 1.7 tons of coals, which was used for generating power.
In the background it can be seen the mountains of Liechtenstein, on the opposite site are the Swiss Alps. Liechtenstein actually does not have any railway stations, just a single line pass through the country from the Swiss station Buchs SG to the Austrian station Feldkirch. From Buchs the visitor has to take the bus to visit the country and the capital Vaduz.

[Actually, the Buchs SG - Feldkirch line has a few stations in Liechtenstein where local trains stop. However, Vaduz itself inded can't directly be reached by rail, although the closest station in Liechtenstein, Schaan-Vaduz, additionally bears its name and is connected to Vaduz by bus. - SM]
