Appenzellerbahn historic rolling stock. At the end of the 19th Century, a narrow gauge railway was projected to climp the Saentis mountain from Appenzell. Only the section Appenzell - Wasserauen was ever built. This railway is today part of the Appenzellerbahn system (AB). Today the Saentis can be reached by an aerial gondola line, also calling itself Saentisbahn. On this picture, two trailer cars of the original Saentisbahn, now part of the Appenzellerbahn historic vehicle collection, are seen at Herisau in June 2001. Photo by A. Moglestue (amogles@yahoo.com)
