A rack switch of the Jungfraubahn at Kleine Scheidegg seen on 20 March 2002. Where the rack crosses the rails, a part of the rack and a part of the rail are moved together to put either the rack or the rail into position. Also, the part of the rack in the foreground is moved to connect it to the rack of the one or the other track. It seems that the cogwheels surround the teeth also from both sides, otherwise it would be possible to let the two fixed racks simply join in this area. The Jungfraubahn was the first railway that used the Strub type rack.
