Freight car Hik 301 of the Wengernalpbahn is parked in Grund on 21 March 2002,
next to Hikt 302. These cars are normaly used to bring goods from Lauterbrunnen
up to Wengen, but in the week before the Snowpenair Concert at Kleine Scheidegg
on 23 March, a lot of freight was brought up to there from Grund. Note the
shaft running along under the car at this side and being connected to the shaft
under the next car. I noticed shafts like this on several cars. They seem to be
intended to transmit a turning movement through the train mechanicaly, but I
don't know which function is controlled this way, maybe a mechanical brake or
something.
