MGB - Switzerland During the weekend a rack diesel locomotive is hired by MGB to the Dampfbahn Furka-Bergstrecke, as spare when a steam locomotive breaks down. MGB HGm4/4 61 is seen at the end of the DFB tracks in Oberwald. The entrance of the new Furka tunnel can be seen just to the right of the locomotive. | mgb diesel-electric locomotive HGm 4/4 61 (SLM 1967). 54 t, 50 km/h, 770 kW. These locomotives were originally built for snow clearing trains on the old Furka mountain line. Today they are sometimes used for work trains on the DFB as well. Oberwald, 2011-10-01. |
