Fragment of RhB WR 3813, built 1929 by SWS for Mitropa as B4ü 161 and used as a restaurant car without kitchen on the Bernina line. The kitchen was situated in a separate car rebuilt from a covered freight wagon, connected by a covered gangway and uncoupled in Campocologno as it was not allowed to go across the border to Italy. In 1945 No. 161 went to RhB, rebuilt with kitchen as DR4ü 14, then WR 3813, later equipped with a cogwheel to work on the Glacier Express in summer, on trains Landquart - Davos - St. Moritz in winter. It went out of service in 1987, parts of the bogies were re-used for the "Jumbo" double restaurant car 3816+3817, the rest was sold to Dampfbahn Furka-Bergstrecke in 1990, but never used there. In 2000 it was cannibalized for parts to restore the sister car 3814, a project to use the old 3813 to build a piano-bar car didn't materialize so all that is left is this fragment. The number 3813 was re-used in 2002 for a restaurant car rebuilt from the A 1211 (built 1931 by SWS) which has no parts in common with the original 3813.
