The locomotives are best suited for hauling loads at low speed over long distances. The locomotive is 60 km/h in maximum, has a weight of 50 tonnes and a power output of 350 kW at 20 km/h. It is driven by Caterpillar diesel engines. It can be operated remotely by radio. Photo taken Saturday 21 June 2003.

The two diesel locomotives of class Gmf4/4 are mostly used for work trains. In the picture you can see nr. 243 stabled in Klosters. Maybe this locomotive is used as rescue locomotive for trains through the Vereina tunnel too.
