The mining lines of the Ostrava-Karviná area, some going back to Kaiser-Ferdinands-Nordbahn, were nationalized after the second world war into Ostravsko-karvinské kamenouhelné doly (OKD). From 1952 the company operating these lines was called OKR Doprava, in 1994 it was renamed OKD Doprava and operated on other lines as well. In 2008 Viamont Rail was taken over. In 2010 OKDD was renamed to AWT (Advanced World Transport). In 2015 AWT was taken over by PKP Cargo and from 2019 it was renamed to PKP Cargo International.
