Passenger car 24508, originally a 2nd class RHEINGOLD car of the DRG from 1928. The interior is not original, it has been changed to compartments in the fifties. The original colours and inscriptions have been restored. This car is not in service, some windows are missing or broken. It is owned by the reisebüro mittelthurgau and stored south of the wagon hall in the freight station of Freiburg (Breisgau). April 1996.

Ein Tag vor Fahrplanwechsel hatten die Berliner und Besucher die Möglichkeit ihren neuen Bahnhof kennenzulernen. Und so konnte man an diesem Tag nicht nur die aktuelle Traktion erleben, sondern auch historische Fahrzeuge von Deutscher Reichsbahn und Bundesbahn bestaunen.

Nostalgie-Istanbul-Orient-Express in Dresden Hbf. One of two ex-Rheingold cars from 1928, the SA4üBar No. 24506 (51 85 09-30 506-7). Externally it has been painted in (more or less) the colours of origin, but it is rebuilt with rubber gangways and has a non-historical, but very nice, interior with bar and piano. 2001-11-03.

Nostalgie-Istanbul-Orient-Express in Dresden Hbf. One of two ex-Rheingold cars from 1928, the SB4ük No. 24507 (51 85 09-30 040-7). Externally it has been painted in (more or less) the colours of origin, but it is rebuilt with rubber gangways. This was originally a 2nd class car (2+1 seating), today it has an interior similar to the old 1st class cars (1+1 seating). 2001-11-03.

Rheingold car of 1928 in the "Rheinisches Industriebahnmuseum" in Köln, where the FEK (Freundeskreis Eisenbahn Köln) is maintaining historic rolling stock. This one used to operate in the "Venice Simplon Orient Express" and received a special interior for that service, but is now out of service due to need of overhaul. 2001-06-04.

Another coach of the Rheingold of 1928. It has been rebuilt into a normal compartment car by the DB in the 1950s, now it is restored to its original livery externally, but still has compartments inside. Rheinisches Industriebahnmuseum Köln, 2001-06-04.
