Historic narrow gauge freight car, Pölzig
Historic narrow gauge freight car 99-61-01 of the Gera-Meuselwitz-Wuitzer Eisenbahn (GMWE), a 31 km long meter gauge railway that existed between 1901 and 1969 and had a tram network connection at Gera. This car, built in 1901 by Uerdingen, can be seen in front of the former Pölzig station since 17 June 2012. Its original number prior to the nationalisation in 1949 was GMWE Gw 17. This was the station of Lohsdorf between Hohnstein and Kohlmühle (Schwarzbachbahn, in service from 1897 to 1951). Two carbodies of freight cars GGwhEl have been preserved and will form part of a small museum at first; later it is planned to build up the entire line again. 2001-06-14.
