Four Talent DMU's of class 643.2 running eastbound through Aachen Rothe Erde as a special train (Sonderzug), seen from behind on 13 February 2003. As far as I know, these new trains for the euregiobahn are still undergoing tests. Beneath the head lights and the rear lights under the windscreen, the additional lights needed for the planned tram operation are already present. Two unidentified class 643.2 DMUs are approaching Aachen Schanz southbound on 31 January 2009. The first unit forms RB 11517 towards Eschweiler-Weisweiler, the second one forms RB 11567 towards Stolberg-Altstadt. They will be separated in Stolberg Hbf. Three Talent DMU's of class 643.2 run westbound through Aachen West on 24 October 2002. These new trains for the euregiobahn are obviously on a test run (Probefahrt). They are shorter than the class 644 which is in use by now (only two sections), have less doors (only one per section) and a mechanical transmission instead of an electric one. Also I heard that these trains should be equipped for tram operation (planned for the future), including direction indicators and a bell. This is not to be seen yet, but note that there seem to be openings on the sidewalls of the cab below the windows. This might be the place where the direction indicators will be fitted when needed.
