Cab of the DBAG railbus 772 007-1. On the left you see the radio device (Zugbahnfunk). A small digital LCD display similar to the one on Tatra trams indicates the speed. 2001-02-16.

772_007-1_cab2.jpg (92354 bytes)

Cab of the DBAG railbus 772 007-1. On the right you see the latest addition, the EBuLa device (not yet operational); it will show the timetable and speed restrictions when it goes into service, but nobody knows whether this railbus or the branch line Pirna - Neustadt (Sachsen) where it operates will still be in service when it really comes to use .... 2001-02-16.

772_007-1_door.jpg (56329 bytes)

Railbus 772 007-1, door. When it was modernized in the early 1990s, it received red buttons to request stops as in a bus and automatic door opening/closing (operated with the green buttons). The door handle is still there, but now without function. The door is folding to the left. And despite this, the railbus can still depart with open doors - after departure in Dürrröhrsdorf (line Pirna - Neustadt (Sachsen)) on 2001-02-16, I noticed that the driver forgot to close a door, so I closed it with the button .... Quite a difference to the complicated door control systems of modern trains! Note also the grammatical error on the sign "Nicht öffnen[,] bevor der Wagen hält".
