215904 with two classmates in the yard at Niebull, Northern Germany. As
noted on the cabside, these locos (14 of them) were converted from standard
class 215s to work the Sylt car shuttles between Niebull and Westerland,
which is on the island of Sylt and connected to mainland Germany by a narrow
causeway that carries only a railway. Thus all road vehicles must use the
shuttle. You can see some shuttle wagons in the background. These class 215s
are being replaced by more powerful class 218 'rabbits'. Thankfully, in
spite of the threatening sky, it did not snow, and behind me the sun was
out - but boy was it cold!
