Eight locomotives of class 346 on a siding at Dresden-Friedrichstadt,
next to the track from the freight station to the harbour, all in
their original orange livery. These locomotives are apparently retired
and partly incomplete - it seems that they are being disassembled for
spare parts to repair the locomotives still in service. 2001-07-17.

This one can be used in two different systems, diesel and electric.

Diesel shunters class 346 standing in the yard of station Bitterfeld on
19 May 1996. One seems to have a pantograph, but as far as I know none have
been rebuilt for electric traction....

In Dresden-Friedrichstadt, near the depot, I found these locomotives:
two class 232 and nine class 346, obviously retired. Recently I read
that very few class 346 shunters in the original orange livery remain
in active service for DBCargo.
