The old class 430 was one of the "egg head" streamlined classes, now the number is
re-used for an evolution of the class 423 and 422. This variant is designed to
replace class 420 on the S-Bahn Stuttgart (from 2012) and Frankfurt/Rhein-Main
(from 2015). The end has been redesigned according to the latest crashworthiness
standards, and this meant to reduce the length of the middle cars so that the
