A multiple system ICE 3 (class 406) passes Königsdorf (on Cologne-Aachen) as ICE 14 (Frankfurt-Bruxelles) on 16 February 2003. Between the rails the cables of the LZB (Linienzugbeeinflussung) are visible. The LZB is not yet in service, so the train runs with 160 km/h.

A multiple system ICE 3 (class 406) makes round-trips on the Open Day at the Wildenrath Test Centre of Siemens on 25 August 2002. A lot of people are waiting to enter the train. It is running on the large test ring (6082 m long), the (unelectrified) crossing track is the access to the railway network.

Tracks between Obehausen and Emmerich was closed on 2nd of May 2010. So the ICE to Amsterdam went via Venlo instead of Arnhem. Here unit 4685 (end car 406 585 in front) had to wait before the signal at the western end of Breyell siding.

Pantograph type DSA380 at the stand of Stemmann-Technik. The DSA series were originally developed by Dornier, later continued by Adtranz and Bombardier, today they are all manufactured by Stemmann. The ICE 3 has this type of pantograph; here it is shown with a narrow wiper (for Switzerland and the French AC system).
