The ET 183 05 was originally built in 1900 as ET 505 by MAN, BBC and SSW for 
the 600 V DC line München Isartalbahnhof - Höllriegelskreuth-Grünwald. It was
rebuilt in 1926 and used on the line Meckenbeuren - Tettnang then, until 1962.
The photo shows it in a bad state, before restoration as a non-working museum
vehicle.
