DBAG 103 217 arrives with IC 2334 at Oberhausen-Hbf (main-station) on 20th of July 2003.

Eight days later it was taken out of service. Last pulled train was IC 2652 from Leipzig to Mainz on 27th of July 2003. On 31st of July it comes back in service (again...) and was used to heat up IC-train-sets in Dortmund from 1st to 10th of August 2003. Since 19th of August 2003 it is parked in Frankfurt (on paper still in service).

On paper the service for DBAG R+T (Reise und Touristik, the long-distance passenger department) by class 103 ended finally on 5th of August 2003. Finally? In lack of working class 101 and 120 DBAG R+T lend class 103 from DB-Museum (you remeber: Officially R+T has no class 103 in service. 103 217? Never heared, the boss said we don't own a class 103...) which are not only used for special trains, but for common IC-service too.
