DB Class 103 Electric Locomotive. Historic loco E03-001 stands in platform 9 at München Hbf with a special from Düsseldorf to the Octoberfest on Saturday, September 22nd, 2001. The special train was comprised of a number of historic coaches. Some of the passengers leaving the train were already well-primed for the celebrations.

The first series 103 engine arrived from Hamburg with a semi-fast train in Lehrte.
In September 1977, it still carries the original front-spoiler, but a new one-bar arm.

| E03 001, the first electric locomotive for regular speeds of 200 km/h in Germany, built 1965 by Henschel and Siemens, in service until 1997. The number was changed back to what it was before 1965 but the skirt under the buffers was not reconstructed. Verkehrsmuseum Nürnberg. 2011-02-02. |

We were really pleased to see this historic DB loco in action especially as the
previous day it had gone past us soon after we had got on a train to Koblenz!
E03 001 is seen at Koln Hbf having stopped briefly with its special train to Dresden.
The date was the 14th April 2005.

SNCB coaches with a special train to Dresden.
