Dresden, Marienbrücke, 2001-10-10: The workers have just removed a part of the bridge which is being moved into a barge with a big crane. Half of the bridge will be removed in chunks like this one and replaced with a new bridge on the new pillars, then the trains take the new bridge and the other half is replaced in a similar way. Detail view of the Marienbrücke in Dresden (north bank of the Elbe), 2001-01-30. This gap is visible because the steel bridge for two of the four tracks has been removed, but the stone arch in front is preserved.
