Control centre of the Transrapid-Versuchsanlage Emsland. From here, the
whole system is operated. Various displays show the position of the train
and the switches. 6 October 2000.

Straight track of the Transrapid-Versuchsanlage Emsland. Various types of
track in concrete and steel are being tested. Here, the line allows
speeds of more than 400 km/h. The trains tested here were the Transrapid
06 and Transrapid 07 (both out of service), currently test runs and
passenger round trips are done with the Transrapid 08 prototype.

If the maglev line Hamburg - Berlin is built, it will be operated by DB
AG, and the trains will be named ICE 5.
