dme_talent.jpg (100495 bytes)

In May 1999 the Dortmund-Märkische Eisenbahn (DME) started operating trains on the Volmetalbahn Dortmund-Hagen-Lüdenscheid. This new "Talent" DMU of the DME was photographed on 7 August at the end point of the line Lüdenscheid. The DME Talent has a lower floor than DBAG class 644 and dieselhydraulic instead of dieselelectric traction. DBAG class 643 (to be delivered) will be similar to the DME units.
