August 2002.

Berzelius D4 (Jung 13618/1964) on 19th of June 2004 in Duisburg-Wannheim. Due to its painting it seems the locomotive is a former HKM (Hüttenwerke Krupp Mannesmann, only some meters away and now railroad-operated by Eisenbahn + Häfen; please look there) owned one. Special thanks and greetings to the guard of Metallhütte, who allowed to take this picture.

This fireless steam-locomotive was built with fabrication-no. 7595 in 1911 by Borsig in Berlin-Tegel. It was delivered to Bremer Woll-Kämmerei (BWK) in Bremen-Blumenthal, where it was in service until the mid nineties (see here -ninth posting from above by V. Klemm- for a narrative in German of the responsible manager from this time). In 1996 BWK donated the engine to Gronauer Eisenbahn- und Modellbahnfreunde e.V. They restored it and placed it in front of Gronau station as monument for the former textile-industry of Gronau. Seen on 2nd of October 2011. Photo ©Arnim v. Herff |

Scusi, I don't know what it is, nor who owned it. "I.M.G. 82" on 19th of June 2004 in Duisburg-Wannheim. The plate above the "I.M.G" tells something about Klöckner. But it is not clear if it means the producer (the well known "Klöckner Humboldt Deutz") or the former owner (Klöckner was a steel producer, after a bankrupt it is actually only a steel-dealer company, but both in Duisburg).

A big and well known factory of paper-towels is located in Neuß. For internal purposes it owns two small shunters. Meanwhile an UNIMOG is used, but the locos are still parked at the factory. AFAIK the vehicles should be sold if someone is interested. AFAIK the vehicles should be sold if someone is interested. Here the shunter built by Maschinenfabrik Esslingen in 1961 with fabrication-no. 5302 on 22nd of March 2008. Fabrication-no. 5316 was the last loco built by ME in 1966, a cog-wheel steamer for Indonesia (road-no. E 10 60) - BTW the last built steamer in Germany. This Indonesian class consisted of ten locos, delivered in two series - fabrication-numbers 5306-5309 and 5311-5316 (compare: Werner Willhaus, "1966 - der letzte Dampflokneubau in Deutschland" in Eisenbahn Kurier 10/2006, Freiburg 2006, page 26 ff). So this diesel is one of the very last by Maschinenfabrik Esslingen, IF fabrication-numbers 5303-5305 and 5310 was not used for boilers or steam-rollers... Photo ©Arnim v. Herff |
