MEG 228 502, Gera Railway Depot Former BUNA works industrial diesel locomotive No. 201 now operated by Mitteldeutsche Eisenbahn (MEG) exhibited at Geraer Eisenbahnwelten located at the former Gera Railway Depot. Built by LKM (serial number 280110) and put into service 15 May 1968. This is not a locomotive of the DR, but an industrial locomotive of VEB Chemische Werke where it operated until the 1990s. Operated by MEG since 1998 and loaned to Gera Railway Worlds since 2011. Registration number is 92 80 1228 502-1 D-MEG. Photo taken Saturday 30 May 2015. Although the nearby 'U Boat' we hoped to see on a train did not appear, this DR 118 in authentic livery and operated by Meg did put in a welcomed appearence. This highlight of our visit was pictured in July 2004 not that far from Leipzig.
