Meanwhile Eurobahn got homologation for their Flirts in Germany. (Remember: Some hundreds of this EMUs operates all over Europe and in Germany too...) But line RE 13 from Hamm to Venlo (NL) leads over Dutch territory for the last three kilometers (or something like that: Three street-crossings and two signals with Dutch technology, current is German until Venlo CS). So Dutch certificates are needed too, but not given until now... Eurobahn hired a train from DBRegio, which take over passengers in Kaldenkirchen (last German station before the border), travel to Venlo, pick up Eurobahn-passengers there and return to Kaldenkirchen. Time needed: aprox. 15 minutes, next round after 45 minutes... Europe without borders? Hmmm, anyway: Thank you dear bureaucrats (and lobbyists) for prefering automobiles!
