14 four-car and 15 six-car units have been ordered. Since december 2022 they are running on the lines RE1
Magdeburg - Berlin - Frankfurt (Oder), RE8 Wismar - Berlin - Airport BER, in future more lines will be added.
The units are very similar to the Desiro HC already operating in west Germany (RRX) and southwest Germany (bwegt).
