RIS snowplough SPM 302, Nossen
Snowplough SPM 302 type 'Meiningen' (30 50 979 3 203-5, built in 1972) of Regio Infra Service Sachsen (RIS, owned by CVAG and RPE) seen after heavy work on the track of the Freiberg route of Nossen railway station. The snowplough was pushed by 112 708. It was the beginning of winter storm 'Daisy' which caused heavy snowfall on the evening and the fallowing weekend. Nossen is located on the second saxonian mainline linking Leipzig and Dresden. Long time ago it was an important hub with routes to Riesa, Freiberg-Moldova (Czech Republic) and Freital. Today the station is regulary only operated by regional trains consisting of class 642 DMUs, although there is a heritage association operating many steam locomotives for railfanning.
