The left building contains the old signalbox of Horrem on the upgraded line
Cologne-Düren
(<a href="http://www-users.rwth-aachen.de/christoph.schmitz2/strecke/strecke.html">ABS 4</a>).
The right building was newly errected, so i guess it will contain the
electronic signalbox for the new
<a href="http://www-users.rwth-aachen.de/christoph.schmitz2/kssignal.html">Ks
signals</a> that were installed. It's funny that new signalboxes are built
without windows, even if they are direct beneath the rails. In some years there
might be signalmen that don't know how a train looks like in reality ;-). Or
is the new building just for the computer equipment? We will see. The picture
was taken on 9 August 2001.
