Here you can see a typical Berlin S-Bahn (urban train) at a typical Berlin S-Bahn-stop (Bellevue). The train is made in 1927 -- in western Berlin these were the usual trains (that's because the GDR operated even the rails in western Berlin until the 80ies -- then they sold the S-Bahn and their oldest cars.) Last year (1995) there were some of these trains left.
Today you'll find mostly different types of modern trains and some constructed in 1936.
This picture was taken im summer 1989. Because of the wall there was less traffic -- nowadays the platforms are much more crowded.
