The spacious but empty entrance hall of the station Dresden-Mitte. Originally, this station had ticket counters, a restaurant, luggage services and a nice big roof above the tracks, but the roof was damaged in the second world war and soon removed completely and counters were closed, so this is what remains: an unmanned stop with two platforms, ticket machines and a drink dispenser (only local trains stop here). At least you have plenty of space to store bicycles well-protected from the rain. But there are some plans for rebuilding this station and making it a bit more inviting. 2001-05-11.
