Preetz station. Trains on the mostly single-tracked line from Kiel to Luebeck in northern German pass each other here. The train on the r.h.s heads for Kiel, the one on the left to Luebeck and Hamburg. Formerly, this station had 5 tracks and several private sidings. The platform for the left track was between the two tracks. You can still notice the large distance between the tracks. Some years ago all but 2 tracks were removed, making place for the new platform on the left and a car park. March 2005 (c) J. C. Stiller (stiller_the_at_symbol_brain.uni-freiburg.de)

Preetz station before modernisation, probably in the early 1990s. At that time, there were still a large grain elevator and a goods shed as well as several private sidings. The central bus station, however, had already been moved next to the train station. (c) J. C. Stiller (stiller_at_brain.uni-freiburg.de)
