Writing in the dark underpass of the stop Schmilka-Hirschmühle (between Bad
Schandau and the Czech border). Today it says "Zu den Zügen in der Richtung
nach Schöna" - Schöna, the last station before the border, is the end station
of all S1 trains. You can see a bit of the old inscription shining through:
"Richtung Bodenbach" - long ago, even local trains went from here to Bodenbach
(= Decin hl. n.); today only EuroCity, night trains and a few regional trains
on the weekend, but they don't stop in Schmilka-Hirschmühle any more. On the
right you see a more recent addition: a sign that warns you not to get too
close to the track. By the way, Schmilka is on the other side of the Elbe,
connected to the station by a ferry; Hirschmühle is an old mill, of which only
a ruin is left. The stops in this area are very popular among hikers every
weekend.

Station building of Süderbrarup (street side). Süderbrarup is located in the north of Germany ("Schleswig-Holstein") at the DB AG railway line between Kiel and Flensburg. In former times this line was crossed at this station by a line of the "Schleswiger Kreisbahn" (later: VKSF). The "Schleswiger Kreisbahn" had a line which went from Schleswig to Kappeln/Schlei. The tracks to Schleswig were removed in 1984, on the rest of the line from Süderbrarup to Kappeln it is possible to take a ride on veteran trains. Bahnhof Süderbrarup (Straßenseite). Süderbrarup befindet sich in Schleswig-Holstein an der Bahnstrecke Kiel - Flensburg (DB AG). Diese Bahnstrecke wurde hier früher von der "Schleswiger Kreisbahn" (später: VKSF) gekreuzt, die eine Strecke von Schleswig über Süderbrarup nach Kappeln/Schlei besaß. Die Verbindung nach Schleswig wurde 1984 abgebaut, das Streckenstück nach Kappeln wird heute u.a. von einer Museumsbahn befahren. Das Foto entstand 1996.

The remains of old arrival timetables at Sebnitz (Sachsen). Today there are only
trains from and to Bautzen and Bad Schandau; when this timetable was valid, some
trains also went to Hoyerswerda. You can also see that this line was not any
faster back then .... 2001-02-16.

Steinsfurt Bahnhof is located on the non-electrified line between Heilbronn & Heidelberg via Meckesheim. Interestingly there are 3 station name boards, the most recent just below the clock, then above the ground floor windows (perhaps these were once raised letters) and the original carved name but spelt Steinsfurth at the roof line. In dem weißen Vorbau residiert der Fahrdienstleiter Stubben, dessen Zuständigkeit
sich im Norden bis nach Loxstedt und im Süden bis nach (verm.) Lübberstedt
erstrecken dürfte.
