A train indicator at track 6 in Aachen Hbf, announcing RB 11539 on 28 February
2002. It seems to be a bit confused. Of course, the destination is
Köln-Deutz, not Kcün-Deutz. The train does not come from Kassel (von
Kassel), this line normally contains the stations Horrem and Köln Hbf that
the train passes. "1. Klasse hinten" (first class at the rear end) is normally
shown for this train and normally correct, however on that day the first class
was at the front end. Note that the catenary next to the indicator has a double
contact wire, track 6 is one of the tracks that are switchable to 3 kV DC for
trains to Belgium.

A very confused train indicator at track 8 in Aachen Hbf, seen on 27 November
2002. If a train starts here ("Zug beginnt hier"), it does not make sense to
show the arrival time ("Ankunft"). As you can see, the sky is bright, as this
Photo was taken in the afternoon, not in the night around 0:18. No train would visit Dortmund twice, and of course there is no destination Üü()sörsddddrfik.

This is one of the few places where the train category
"ICT" exists - those trains (class 411 and 415) are
listed as "ICE" in the timetables. 23 September 2000.

The train indicator at Bonn Hbf, announcing RE 11116 (11115 is wrong) to
Emmerich on 23 May 2004. Because of construction works near Cologne main
station, a lot of trains did not run via Cologne ("Nicht über Köln"),
and the passengers were asked to listen to the announcements given by the
loudspeakers ("Bitte Ansage beachten"), which tried to explain them how to get
to their destination. This train ran over freight tracks in the south of
Cologne, with no stop between Hürth-Kalscheuren (not a normal stop of this
line) and Leverkusen Mitte.

Bremen Hbf: The train to Cuxhaven was delayed because of an accident
that happened near Osnabrück; a truck damaged a rail brigde so
that all trains had to be re-routed until the bridge was being fixed
(late 1997)

Gleisanzeiger in Dresden Hbf. Hier ist deutlich zu sehen, daß die
Zielangabe "Saarbrücken" und das IC-Logo seinerzeit von der Bundesbahn
hinzugefügt wurden, während die Uhrzeit noch in der original Schablonenschriftart
aus DDR-Zeiten angegeben ist.

In the access tunnel to the platforms at Dresden Hbf, the old electromechanic displays
showing the next train (left) are being replaced by new flat screens (right). When the
Photo was taken (March 1999), new displays were only installed at the entrance to track
3 and 4, operating parallel to the old displays. Here they both announce the EC 171
Hungaria to Budapest (which normally stops at track 5) and the next local train to
Schöna. Compare yourself which one is easier to read.

"An Gleis 4 erhält Einfahrt die RegionalBahn von Dillenburg zur Weiterfahrt nach Hamburg-Altona?! Dieser Zug hält bis Hamburg auf allen Unterwegsbahnhöfen?". Immer wochentags ist die RB 14516 der DB Regio AG von Dillenburg nach Kassel Hbf an Gleis 4 im Bahnhof Gießen auf Abwegen zu beobachten. Datum: 20. Februar 2002

Zugzielanzeiger am Bahnhof Deggendorf Hbf. Hierbei handelt es sich um eine minimalst-Form des Zugzielanzeiger. Im Falle von Verspätungen würde an Stelle der Zuggattung die jeweilige Verspätung angezeigt.

Bis Ende 2002 fuhren die ICEs auf der Neubaustrecke Köln - Rhein/Main nur im Shuttlebetrieb zwischen Köln und Frankfurt. Aufgrund der hohen Fahrzeitreserven waren und sind Verspätungen eher selten, während des Shuttlebetriebs kam es auch nicht selten vor, dass ein Zug drei oder vier Minuten "verfrüht" war. Wie die Anzeigetafel verkündet fährt der ICE-Shuttle 1057 aus Köln nach Frankfurt gleich in Montabaur ein.
Until december 2002 the ICE-trains on the new built highspeed track 'Cologne - Rhine/Main' drove only as shuttle-trains between Cologne and Frankfurt/Main. Because of the high time-supplies, delays were and are fortunately rare, during this time often trains were to three to four minutes too early.
