Dresden prototype tram 2000, Trachenberge depot
Dresden tram T4D #2000 at the Trachenberge depot. Built in 1967 by CKD, it was a preproduction model and therefore the first built T4D. The T4 is remarkable particularly for its distinctive design, which differs strongly from later "box" or modern trams. The 2000 was rebuilt to a driving school vehicle in 1971/72. On 14 September 1997, exactly 30 years after its first launch at Dresden, the vehicle was transferred to Dresden's tram museum association.
