DSB litra ME. These locomotives were introduced in 1980, gradually
replacing the classes MX and MY. Their outward appearance is similar
to their electric cousins, the litra EA.

Kollisionen mellem ME 1509 og ME 1511 der førte til oplakering af disse to i unik rød bemaling, var ikke den første ulykke for 1511's vedkommende. I 1992 var den involveret i en alvorlig kollisionsulykke med en MZ IV. Billedet her er taget ved centralværkstedet i København kort tid efter. Jeg var ikke i stand til at tage et billede af MZ'eren, der ellers også så noget løjerlig ud med fronten knækket i "nakken", da den holdt i den anden ende af den viste remisebygning... The collision between ME 1509 and 1511 wasn't the first accident for 1511. In 1992 it was involved in a mainline-collision between two trains, that caused serious damage to 1511 and an MZ-loco as well. The photo is made in the Copenhagen Depot, shortly after the accident. The MZ-loco was also present, but unfortunately I coldn't get to photograph it, as it was placed in a restricted area in the other end of the shed... Photo and scan by: Morten S.
